Janet Phillips (1946-2011) was a life-long member of St John’s who contributed to its work and mission in a variety of capacities, including teaching in the Sunday School, helping to run the youth club, and serving as secretary of the Parochial Church Council. She also organized three flower festivals at the church. Janet and her husband, Michael, were married in St John’s in 1969, and after her death in 2011 Michael donated a lamp for the aumbry, where the consecrated bread and wine is stored, in her memory. Janet was also involved in St Edmundsbury School, serving as a school governor and a dinner-lady.
