This bowl to the left as you enter the church was designed and made by Norman Yap. It was installed in the porch, in a niche designed by Philip Orchard, early in 2018, and blessed by the Revd Anne Haselhurst on the feast of Corpus Christi that year. It was given in memory of Fr Simon Pettitt, Vicar of St John’s from 1986-1993, who died in 2009. Stoups are used by Christians to recollect their baptismal vows by dipping their fingers into its water and making a sign of the cross.
