Second Lieutenant Frank Evered Stantial (1889-1915) was the son of the Revd Arthur Evered Stantial (1859-1949) and his wife Mary Kennard Stantial (1859-89), and grandson of the Revd Dr Thomas Stantial. He studied at King Edward VI School, Bury, and Keble College Oxford, and later joined the 3rd Battalion Suffolk Regiment, becoming a second lieutenant. He was killed on 4th May 1915, aged 26, and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, one of four memorials to the missing in Belgian Flanders which cover the area known as the Ypres Salient.
