Canon Julian Douglas Raymond Rudd (1919-2009) studied at Leeds University and trained for ordination at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. He served his first curacy at St John’s from 1942-46, after which he was curate at St Alban the Martyr, Holborn with St Peter, Saffron Hill (1946-49). He later served parishes in the dioceses of Winchester and Coventry, retiring in 1984. He was an honorary canon of Winchester and Coventry cathedrals.
