Confirmation is the sacrament in which those now able in some way to understand affirm and complete, usually before the Bishop, the promises made on their behalf in infant baptism. The believer’s relationship with God is strengthened and deepened as the Bishop lays hands on their head, saying: “Confirm, O Lord, your servant (name) with your Holy Spirit.”
