The Taizé Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic community in Burgundy, France, established by Brother Roger in 1940. It has become an important Christian pilgrimage destination, especially for young people.
Worship at Taizé is characterised by the repetitive singing of simple harmonized tunes, often in various languages and derived from passages of scripture, interspersed with readings, prayers, and periods of silence.
